Hong Kong Day 33: Cheung Chau Island

I am in an excellent mood! Laura, my dearest laura, finally emailed me back about her summer. =) that definitely made my night! Now I am watching the England vs Portugal game (go England!) while I update you a little about whats been going on here on the other side of the world.

it was very good to see my parents last night. we walked along nathan road and ate some waffles. then i left them to go back to my own hotel because i had to work. i gave them nice directions to come meet me and chelsea for lunch. we ate at exp. it was tasty and safe as usual. my sister got a strange noodle thing that came really late and was a little too spicy for her. anyways later that night i met my parents and took them to see the light show -figured i would get it out of the way. then we walked around trying to find a restaurant and finally opted for some café. It was alright.

Last night I could not sleep so at 3am I took some pills to help me sleep and emailed my parents and told them I wont meet them for breakfast but just meet them an hour later to leave for Cheung Chau –a small island near hong kong. It took us a bit to walk to the pier where the ferry would be (that would take us to the island). A lady helped us find it (although I think we would have found it just fine without her, it was still so nice of her). It was a public holiday today in HK –their independence day or something. Anywho, it was fun going to cheung chau. We walked around it a bit –there are no vehicles allowed on the island, just bikes and walking. We went to this small temple that was some temple to the god of fishermen I think or something. Heck I don’t know, it just reminded me of the temples on lantau island where the big Buddha is. Then we ate a so-so lunch at this hotel near the beach at this island –it was called the warlock I think. Then we went to the beach. That was fun. I always love beaches and this one was nice, small, but nice. We left around 4 and came back and showered and them I took them to pokka café. The food was very good –just like before when I had gone, but the service was rather poor. I think it was because I kept asking this waiter who had poor English. It was kinda annoying just because my mom was not feeling well and my dad was very tired. I guess my family is still jet lagged and getting used to things here. My sister and mom are feeling slightly ill to their stomachs and all are very tired. my mom felt sick enough that she didn’t want to go to any markets tonight, so I just brought my sister. It was fun hanging out just with her. We went to ladies market for a smidge and then to garden street. Then I walked her back to her hotel and made the long journey back to the NTT house. Man! I am getting tired of making that trip. I wish it were shorter.

Oh well. Anyways overall I enjoyed cheung chau and feel it was worth the trip. I really enjoyed the views from the ferry. They were very beautiful and it did not rain on us!! =) tomorrow we will travel to macau. There is a beach with black sand. I am packing my bathing suit. Haha to me, the best thing to do any place where it is warm is to go to the beach. =) I guess seeing a new place will be cool too. I read that there is a milk shop that has almost pornographic pictures of cows and their udders. I hope we go there at least so I can take a picture.
Anyways it is half time, so I think I will shower off and snuggle up in bed and fall asleep to the game. I need to get more sleep, but just cant seem to do it. 7am is going to come very early.

Ps. I saw what was in my opinion the best looking asian guy that I have seen in hong kong ---other than sean of course!--- he was on the mtr as I was going home tonight. He had longer hair that was slightly floofed in the front and eyes similar to pui. Don’t worry Benjamin =) I still prefer you with your silly –errr--- short haircut. =) I just was like oh, yes I think he is probably the most attractive asian guy I have seen. Of course I still think the hong kong girls are prettier =P
